Our Rotary Club recently held a young writers competition in conjunction with the Kemptville Youth Centre's annual book fair. This year's event, our second and sponsored by the Egg Farmers of Ontario had two categories; authors between the ages of 10 to 13 and authors from 14 to 18. The submissions were judged by an independent local panel. Prizes for each category were $400 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for third place.
Placings in the 10 to 13 category in order of finish were Elizabeth Newman, Ethan Geurts and Ayla Ritchie. Placings in to 14 to 16 year old category were Andrea Geleynse, Eliza Batchelor and Oceanne Joanette. Congratulations to all!
