Rotarian Serge welcomed Anne Kotlarchuk of ALK Event Management to our meeting as our speaker for the evening. Anne provided us with an overview of her transition from UoG/Kemptville College to private event management in this area.
ALK now boasts ongoing successes with:
•    Language classes in NG -  French, Spanish, Sign Language and Inuktit
•    Shop Local – a spring trade show that will host 75 vendors on the area floor at MHG. Activities/displays will include food trucks, beer tasting, wine tasting, food sampling, animal petting, social media consultation, business coaching, and networking.
•    Bride & Groom Show – an annual event in January which has moved to e-Quinelle this year.  A great venue,
very successful and well attended.
•    In addition – Anne is working with some local not for profit organizations;
o Hospital Foundation Gala
o Comedy Night with North Grenville Community Fund
o KYC Golf Tournament planning committee
o Movie night on the Green with North Grenville Community Fund

A most informative presentation and a good news story suggesting that while closure of UoG is not good for NG, there are some good recovery stories that have come out of it for the individuals who were forced to move on.
